I thought Comet would be hype. Turns out, it’s my most reliable teammate. Here’s why I finally switched.
I got Perplexity Pro thanks to the Airtel Thanks offer. No brainer. Then I applied for Comet and got the invite. Still didn’t move. Why? I was glued to Chrome. I even tried Arc, but the layout and features just didn’t click for me. Beautiful, sure. For my work, it felt more fiddly than fast. I wasn’t more productive, just more… lost.
Then I actually opened Comet. Since I already had Perplexity Pro, the experience levelled up immediately. Answers felt faster, smarter, and actually useful on the page I was on.
The sidebar Assistant became my new reflex:
- Skim a long doc? Pop the sidebar, “Summarize this.” Done.
- On a product page? “Compare prices and specs” Done.
The Comet Assistant AI agent was the unexpected winner: “Fill this form with my info.” It tried.. and mostly nailed it. “Summarize conversations happened today in this WhatsApp group.” Yep, it did it.
Habit kept me on Chrome. Convenience kept me on Comet. The difference wasn’t look-and-feel.. it was thought-to-action. If I can see it, I can ask it. If I can ask it, the agent can usually do it.
